My Special Gift

In December 2011  i was blessed with this beautiful angel.

Her name is Faith and She is 5 years old now. She is very energetic, intelligent, full of surprises and beautiful. She is my entire world. I live for her. The happiness she brings me is beyond description. 

I was 21 years old when i held her for the first time. My life changed and my priorities changed. I was now responsible for someone else other than myself. I had this tiny being who entirely depended on me. Yes, being a young single mom was not easy but i am fortunate i had my aunt who assisted me whenever i needed help with my daughter. In 5 months after her birth i started working as a sales lady at a clothing shop. The salary was not much but i could ensure my baby had everything she needed and also improve our life a bit. In 2012 i decided to invest half of what i was earning monthly to further my education.

Therefore i registered for a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Science) at UNISA.Working retail hours (8:30am to 5pm- Monday to Saturday, every week), being a full-time mom and going to varsity was hard, i do not want to lie. It needed hardwork, focus, dedication and discipline. I would knockoff at 5pm, get my daughter from Creche at 5:15 at least, get home by 5:45pm latest, cook, bath her, spend sometime with her, 10pm she sleeps. I would rest or take a 3 to 4 hours nap after am done with everything. Then i would wake up to study and do my assignments. When i choose not to wake up i would sleep 5 to 6 hours. During examinations time i would sleep 2 to 3 hours. When i feel like giving up i would feel encouraged and empowered by just looking at her, i wanted more for her and i wanted more for myself. I had told myself i need to complete my degree before she goes to Primary School and yes i did it. I completed my degree last year (2016) October, she is in Grade R now going to Primary School for her Grade 1 next year 2018. 

My daughter helps me to be the best version of me. I work hard and push beyond boundaries for the life i want for us. She is my priority in everthing i do. I love her so much.
