As you can see, my fro journey is still young. I started growing my natural hair last year October. It’s been 5 months of pure happiness and self-love, I am enjoying the journey. I still plait braids and weaves whenever I want and when I do, I know somewhere underneath my fro is alive and can’t wait to reunite with it when I undo the hairstyle I would have plaited. It’s like a true love story, I have fallen and found true love with my fro.
I have always kept my daughters hair natural and I love it.
Why I love my Fro
- It’s easy to maintain. Well I take less time on my hair than putting on make-up (when I choice to wear makeup, I normally just prefer sharping my eyebrows and eyes with an eye liner, then a little lipstick on the lips and am out). I maintain my natural hair and my daughter’s in 3 simple steps; wash (at least ones a week), moisturise and straighten with a blow dryer to give it the blown out look.
- Inexpensive. Who doesn’t like more money in their pocket?. We do not need to go to the salon and spend money to maintain our natural hair, it is done by me in the comfort of my own home.
- Reveal my true self. I am more natural and beautiful in my fro. I can rock any outfit, go to any occasion and look absolutely stunning. I also love the fact that it gives me a unique look – yep, who wants to look like everyone?.
My Beautiful, Black Fro… I love it!💓💗.

I love it and I love you and your daughter’s photo!! Don’t laugh at me but you know I always wanted to be a black woman’s hair stylist 🙂 I had a friend at school that would always want to play with my hair but she’d seldom let me play with hers 😢 But when she did it was so much more fun than mine! I’d rock a fro too if I could! My hair is just a hot mess! Super cute look!! I LOVE that smile of you little girls too!!!

I’m always amazed at just how few women wear their natural fros. Fros are wonderful, and they look great on the two of you!

You both look stunning! Just be beautiful you! At age 45, I have been blessed with a few grey hairs. A friend asked if I was going to start coloring my hair. I thought about it and I really don’t think so. This is me…stretch marks and a few “platinum” hairs! (I think this might be a blog in the making! ) Ha!

It has taken me 45 years to learn to love myself! We have to support one another and lift each other up daily! I love the confidence I see in my daughter!! 💚☺️

Good to see someone else growing their fro. I have had mine for almost or over 3 years, I have not really paid attention to it, so it’s good to see someone who is growing their friends and to grow with them.
